Ron Field is the old and wise of the team. He spent many years in the jewelery industry and then went onto manage a small successful business in Caboolture. One day Ron heard this voice from above (No not god), it was a pilot yelling "G’Day" at him from a drifter, just above the trees. From this day forward Ron has been a passionate aviator. He has owned a handful of aircraft and is his prized possession is his red Murphy’s Renegade which is known by many as "The Red Barron". Over the last decade he has been developing an airfield know as ‘Archer Falls Airfield’ or to some as Aviators Paradise.
The Jabiru 24-7141 is a certified factory built aircraft. This particular model is a J230 which is the companies largest version that utilises their 6 cylinder 120HP engine. This aircraft is ideally suited for this trip having a great endurance and loads of room for baggage.
